Casa de Paços

Barcelos and Monção · Vinho Verde

Casa de Paços has been in the same family for more than 500 years and at least 16 generations. Its wines come under two names. Casa de Paços covers authentic Vinho Verde from the region's most typical grapes, among them Loureiro and Arinto. Casa do Capitão-mor is the Alvarinho line from Monção, where around 8.5 hectares are planted exclusively with Alvarinho, some vines centenary. The wines are made under certified integrated production and are suitable for vegans.

Herdade da Amada

Malvar, near Elvas · Alentejo

Herdade da Amada lies near Elvas in the Alentejo, close to the Spanish border. Behind its Contrabando ("contraband") lies a story: Tempranillo vines brought in secret from Ribera del Duero across la raya and grafted onto the estate's own vines. The result is, in the estate's words, a wine with an "Iberian soul".
